Kaminey

Kaminey (Hindi: कमीने, translation: Scoundrels) is a 2009 Bollywood film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj featuring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles. Bhardwaj co-authored the screenplay to a script he bought for $4000 from a Nairobi writer that he mentored at a script writing workshop in Uganda. The film was produced by Ronnie Screwvala of UTV Motion Pictures.

Guddu and Charlie (Shahid Kapoor) are identical twins who have grown in the rugged streets of Mumbai. Both brothers have a speech impediment – Charlie has a lisp, while Guddu stutters in his speech The film begins with a voice over narration by Charlie, who describes how he and his brother could never meet eye to eye, and Charlie's belief in taking shortcuts to fulfill his dream- to become a bookie at a horse racing course, where he currently works for three Bengali brothers in fixing races. He is especially close with the youngest of the three brothers, Mikhail (Chandan Roy Sanyal), whom he considers to be even closer than his own biological brother. Charlie however, gets done in his quest to hit the big time when he bets Rs. 1 lakh on a horse during a fixed race, only to be double-crossed by the jockey, losing all his savings in the process. He hunts down the jockey, who reveals that a man named Francis lured him into betraying Charlie and the three Bengali brothers.

Marudhanayagam

Before that, my rambling note. I saw. I read. I was thrilled, excited and also sad. I hate to believe rumors that Camel Hassan’s ‘to-be magnum opus’ Marudhanayagam will never get to see the light of the silver screens. I have my own reasons why Marudhanayagam should and should not release. The reasons why it should outplay the others. I expect just like millions of other kollywood fans, Kamal’s dream would reach the screens and entertain us.

In fact, filming for Marudhanayagam took off in a grand manner with Queen Elizabeth as the chief guest. But it was stalled for various reasons. Now Kamal Haasan has sorted out much of the problems that thwarted the take off of the film. And with the success and encouragement he received from Dasavathaaram, he has decided to resume Marudhanayagam.

Love Aaj Kal

Aadhavan

Aadhavan is a forthcoming Tamil language superhero film directed by K. S. Ravikumar. The film features Surya Sivakumar in dual roles, along with Nayantara. He will be playing a character with negative shades in one of his roles in the film. The music is composed by Harris Jayaraj.

The film was launched on February 7, 2009 at AVM Studios in Chennai and subsequently a photo shoot was held afterwards. Aadhavan features Surya and Nayanthara in the lead roles and it is being directed by K.S Ravikumar.

Aadhavan is a Class film and Surya will be seen for the first time in a character of negative shades, which will be highlight of the film. Surya, in a portion of the movie Aadhavan, appears as a 10-year old.

After a gap of 12 years legendary actress Saroja Devi is acting in an important role in the movie.

Vadivelu and Ramesh Khanna are joining Surya in the comedy track. Vadivelu and Ramesh Khanna are getting back together in this film after Friends. Surya who is a contract killer enters Saroja Devi’s family to kill and the incidents that take place thereafter forms the story of this film.

Vettaikaran

Kanal Kannan has become the hottest fight master in Kollywood after Ayan.Though a foreign stuntman was used in one particular chase and fight scene, it was Kannan master who supervised it.Now Kannal Kannan is doing super action scenes for Vettaikaran in AVM Studio. It is a market scene with Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Sri Hari, the Telugu actor (Disco Shanthi’s husband) playing the villain clashing.The highlight of this action scene is the “lightning movements of Vijay”, according to unit hands. The whole fight scene is being canned by director Babu Sivam with great care and a lot of effort.

Quick Gun Murugan

Quick Gun Murugun is a 2009 Indian Comedy-Drama film directed by Shashanka Ghosh and written by Rajesh Devraj. It is a western spoof with attitude, featuring outlandish songs, outrageous melodrama and crazy action sequences including a duel in a traffic jam.

The movie is based on a character created for television promos at the time of the launch of the music network Channel [V] in 1994. The character had a cult following, and made catchprases like 'Mind it' and 'We are like this only' popular. In recent years, the character has inspired a sequence from Om Shanti Om where Shah Rukh Khan does a take-off, incorporating elements of Tamil legend Rajinikanth's performances.

Quick Gun Murugan has been exhibited at the London Film Festival, the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, the New York Asian Film Festival and in The Museum of Modern Art, New York (MoMa).

Kandasamy

Kandasamy is one of the most expected movie of this year, right from the day it was launched, it created some sensation and hype among tamil audience living all over the world. But the question is, does it live up to the expectations??? The answer is certainly “No” due to various reasons.

The movie was very lengthy which runs for 3 hours 15 mins. First half was good and it contained some fresh scenes and couple of good songs. But the second half was very bore and it didn’t contain any interesting scene. In the second half, the story moves to mexcio, it’s a place which is never shown in tamil cinema. The entire mexico portion was well shot and it was stylish but the fact is that, there was no content in that scenes. I think in order to show the richness of the movie, they shot few scenes and a song in mexico.

On the whole kandasamy is a mass masala which can be seen once for the sake of the hype it created for the past few years. And in case if you are a fan of shriya, then don’t miss this movie, you will get full satisfaction for the amount you paid for ticket.

Vikram is a national award winner, and he is capable of acting in different roles, but as far as kandasamy is concerned, he didn’t get any scope to act or show is talent. And super hero subject can be done by any hero and national award winner is not at all needed to do this role. And susi ganesan, atleast in your next movie try to concentrate on the story and screen play and then you can concentrate on how to waste producer’s money.

Ninaithale Inukkum

Ninaithale inikkum is a product of sun pictures, but they didn’t promote this movie very well. Its a remake of malayalam blockbuster movie named classmates. Though i didn’t see the original version, i cant compare the Tamil version with the original version.

Pritivi raj, looks cool and smart as usual, though he acted in original version, this role is not new to him. Karthick performed a negative role which doesn’t suit him. He is fit to act only foreign mappilai roles, and villain role doesn’t suit him.

priyamani is the actress, as usual she comes for songs and disappears. Again her voice re-recording is horrible, better she ask some other person to dub voice for her in the forth coming movies. I dont know how much the producer spent to buy face powder for priyamani:-) , over make up in lot of places and her costume and gesture remained me the unneala unneala sada.

Music by vijay antony was just ok, couple of songs and back ground score was good.Backiaraj acted as shakthi’s father, after a long time he acted in sentimental oriented role and he did well.

Nadodigal

Nadodigal is one of the superb movie released so far in 2009. Though this movie didnt had any pre release hype, it satisfied all kind of audience right from A center to C center. This movie has lot of new faces, but they dont look like new faces, all performed very well especially sasikumar stole the entire show through his natural acting and facial expressions.

Story line is very thin, but the screenplay and the way the movie was shot made the movie different from other masala movies. First half was fun-filled with lot of timing comedies and couple of songs. Last ten mins in the first half i.e temple scene was too good and its something new to tamil cinema. Later in the second half, emotions playing a major part, but still its not like mega serial. Climax was good.

This movie clearly portrays the importance of friendship and they clearly showed the way by which today’s modern guys and gals use the word called “LOVE”.

The biggest plus point of this movie was the dialogues which was so real and at the same time it was meaningful.Hats off to samuthirakani and his team for coming up with a great movie which has both entertaining aspects and social message.

As this movie is all about friendship, do watch it with your close friends.

Masilamani

Masilamani is yet another masala movie from sun pictures, starring nakul and sunania. This movie has lot traces of kadhalil viluendhean. The worst part is that this movie has no story. First half is fully dominated by M.S Bhaskar’s comedy. His comedy track was mind blowing. But he tries to imitate all other popular actors of tamil cinema which is something bad.

Second half is usual cat and mouse game. This movie has got few good scenes, apart from that it has got nothing entertaining. Songs are not up to the level except dora dora and divya song.Background music looked very outdated.

On screen chemistry between nakul and sunania was good. But the sad part is that, nakul too tries to become an action hero. Though this is his second movie, he speaks punch dialogues, do superman stunts etc ..Climax and Intro scene was very silly and doest add any advantage to the movie.

On the whole, this is a movie which can be seen once for the sake of comedy tracks by santhanam,MS baskar,karunas. Or better wait for few more days , they will put all the comedy tracks in comedy channels.
